I know this should have been written sooner than today. But I
just couldn't find the words or know how to you say
"Good-bye" to a wonderful kind and gentle person.
He lived his life with dignity. He was by no means meek but
he was a kind and gentle giant. Although he didn't show that
in his stature.
He was a good and loving husband, father and friend. I hope
that his children will remember his kindness and love. And
when he had to discipline, that it was only because he loved
them and wanted only the best for them.
As one of the founders of our chapter, He was a great
inspiration and leader. May we find the strength to continue
as you found the strength to begin.
To those of us who played golf with him and Alice, we will
miss his jokes, his laughter and great comradery.
So now I say "Good-bye" to my favorite "Uncle Gilley"...I
will miss you for now, but hope to once again play the game
we all love and enjoy with you.
And this time you won't have to say"Come on girlfriend don't
miss that putt"., We will be able to play a flawless
game.
