February 17, 2009
Minutes

Members Present:
Mary Muniz, Darlene Kie, Abel Castro, Leticia Castro, Anita Avila, David Guerra, Ram Villareal, Danny Reyes, Felix Galan, Tony Reyes, Tommy Castillo, Olga Castillo.
Meeting was called to order at 7:00pm.

Old Business:
Catering was discussed and need more input on who will cater. Danny suggested that PAGA do business in Irving; therefore, everyone was asked to contact their favorite Mexican restaurant for pricing on a fajita dinner for under $10.00. Also, Tony Reyes suggested a catering company in Cedar Hill who is starting their business and charging $10.00 a plate for 100 people.

Everyone decided that gift cards to department stores would be acceptable for door prizes. Tony Reyes suggested that everyone ask their favorite golf store for any donations/discounts.


Golf Schedule:
Danny passed out this years tournament schedule and all green fees are under $40.00. Home base for the Irving Chapter is Twin Wells. He tried not to overlap course dates/times with other tournaments.

Danny motioned that guests can play up to 3 games without being a PAGA member then they would have to become a member in order to continue playing. Darlene 2nd that motion and the committee approved.

Committee Meeting Information:
PAGA will need a flyer in order to inform everyone of the New Membership Drive. Tommy volunteered to come up with a flyer to pass along at the golf tournaments and to mail to members before the event.

Anita suggested that members be called personally to remind them of the new membership event and for membership renewal. The secretary will follow-up on this suggestion.

Membership Dues:
Abel suggested that dues be increased to $50.00 since other chapters are paying more than what the Irving chapter is paying currently. Membership dues have been an issue in the past in trying to increase membership. Therefore, Mary motioned that this topic be tabled until next year when it can be discussed in more detail by the committee. Committee approved.

Suggestion to have a teaching clinic on a Saturday was discussed. This would probably increase PAGA membership. Danny was volunteered to teach along with Phillip Renteria. Negotiations are still in play for the teaching clinic.

               January 13, 2009

     Meeting Attendees:

     The meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm.
     Roll Call of 2008 Officers: all present
     except Dan Castaneda/Parliamentarian

     Danny Reyes made  announcements for election of new officers for 2009.  Nominations were taken from the floor. Ralph Villarreal made a motion to waive the current By Laws to elect new officers. Seconded by Abel Castro.Motion  carried.

 New Elected Officers for 2009 are as follows:

           President               Tony Reyes
           Vice President                Felix Galan
           Secretary               Olga Castillo
           Treasurer               Tommy Castillo
           Tournament Chairman           Danny Reyes
           Public Relations        Anita Avila
           Parliamentarian               Abel Castro

     Old Business:
     Committee for Get Acquainted Event / New Member was discussed.  More information was requested for caterers and music.
     Final decisions to be made at next meeting.

     New Business:
     Bank arrangements for signatures to be changed to new officers..

     Money to be given for deposits of event and Post Office Box.

     A donation was made by Ralph Villarreal to buy door prizes for
     Get Acquainted / New Member event. Club to buy door prizes too..

I am pleased to announce the New Board for the Year 2007. Especially, because we have a very important milestone to announce. It's our 20th Year Anniversary. We should be very proud of our organization. We have become a chapter that everyone of the other chapters looks for to be Outstanding in everything we do. Lets join together and make this a true venture. Let's support and give our dedication to our organization and our new board.

One of the first things our new board is doing is going back to our membership of $35.00 dollars for a limited time so get your dues in as soon as possible.

For our new members we are pleased and honored to have you join our organization and we look forward to a long and meaningful relationship. For those who have been members in the past, we look forward to having you join us again.

We think back to the many memorable times and activities we have had. It places a smile on my face to remember the great tournaments and great times in many of our activities and the camaraderie that has grown throughout the years.

It has been a pleasure to serve as your President for 2006. I look forward to your continued support and dedication to the Pan American Golf Association of Irving.
